The Livonia, Mich. native and veteran Matt VanOekel will compete for the Stars starting job following the retirement of Joe Warren. A former captain at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., Hildebrandt was a three-time All Summit League performer and captain of the Grizzlies in 2011. With Hildebrandt as first-choice goalkeeper from 2009-2011, the Grizzlies were among the Summit League’s most consistent teams, winning the conference’s regular season title in 2009, its tournament title in 2010 and appearing in the tournament championship game in 2011. Hildebrandt made 13 starts in 2011, posting 56 saves and a 1.10 goals against average.

Chicago Fire Sign ASM Defender Tony Walls
The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Thursday that it has signed 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft pick and Chicago Fire Premier alumnus Tony Walls. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chicago Fire first Assistant Coach, Leo Percovich has signed an extension with the Chicago Fire. The former Uruguayan National player has a wealth of MLS coaching experience having coached with the Colorado Rapids, Chivas USA, and Toronto FC before signing with the Fire last January.

ASM’s Maicon Santos Signs with DC United
Recent ASM Soccer signee Maicon Santos has reached an agreement with DC United of the MLS. The 27 year old Brazilian forward has played for FC Dallas, Toronto FC, and Chivas USA in the MLS prior to signing with DC United. During his MLS career, Santos has scored 14 goals in 62 regular season games and looks to continue his success in the nation’s capital.
